DraftFix helps you improve selected text and turn rough instructions into AI prompts. This notice explains what the desktop app and hosted service process during the free beta.
The text you choose to improve
When you invoke DraftFix and an improvement starts, your selected text, chosen writing mode, and any custom editing instructions are sent over HTTPS to the DraftFix service hosted on Microsoft Azure. The service sends the text and editing instructions to Google's Gemini API and returns the result to your app. If automatic improvement is enabled, invoking the shortcut can start this processing immediately.
DraftFix does not save selected passages or generated results as a draft history, and its application code does not log request bodies, access tokens, or Gemini credentials. This describes DraftFix's implementation; it is not a promise about Google's or other providers' independent retention or data-use practices.
Your current passage and result remain visible in the app while you work. Copying a result places it on your system clipboard. Your operating system or other apps may manage clipboard history according to their own settings.
Sign-in and account information
Auth0 handles account registration, authentication, email verification, and sign-in sessions. Depending on how you sign in, Auth0 processes information such as your email address, account identifier, authentication credentials, and sign-in records. If you use Google sign-in, Google also processes that authentication.
For account emails, Auth0 shares your recipient address and message content, including verification or password-reset links, with Resend. Resend also processes delivery status and related operational records.
The DraftFix API validates an access token and uses the identity provider's account identifier to enforce access and limits. The quota database uses a derived account identifier rather than an email address. Sign-in tokens are stored locally in macOS Keychain or Ubuntu's Secret Service, separately from any settings left by older personal versions. Signing out removes the beta's saved sign-in from the device.
Usage records and free requests
The service stores account usage counters and request markers in Azure Table Storage. These include a derived account identifier, request identifier, request time, quota period, and request state. They help enforce the free allowance, prevent duplicate processing, and limit abuse. They do not contain the submitted text or generated result.
Eligible verified accounts receive 20 requests per UTC calendar month. If access is temporarily restricted to an invited pilot, an invitation is also required. A service-wide daily attempt limit and short-term rate limits also apply. Separate email and social identities may count as separate accounts unless they have been safely linked. A request interrupted after processing can still use a credit.
Usage records and request markers are retained during this beta to enforce limits and prevent replay. Automatic deletion of this metadata has not been implemented. For questions about access or deletion, contact support@draftfix.app.
Local settings and service providers
The app keeps preferences needed for its operation, such as your shortcut, writing options, and saved custom editing preferences. Provider credentials used to fund requests stay on the server; beta users do not enter a Gemini key.
DraftFix relies on Microsoft Azure for hosting, secrets, and usage storage; Auth0 for identity; Google Gemini for text processing; Resend for account email delivery; and Name.com for support-email forwarding. Those services may process operational information such as network and security records under their own terms. Their practices and any processing locations are governed by their applicable services and agreements.
This website
The DraftFix information and download pages have no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or application cookies. Requests still pass through the Azure hosting service. Auth0's separate sign-in pages may use cookies and other mechanisms needed for authentication.
Your choices and support
You choose the text to submit and whether to use the suggested result. You can turn off automatic improvement in the Ubuntu app, sign out, or stop using the beta. The app does not need unrelated documents or your full conversation history to improve a selected passage.
For support, privacy questions, or an account-deletion request, email support@draftfix.app. Support messages, including your sender address and any details you include, are forwarded through Name.com to the publisher's email inbox. The publisher and email providers process that correspondence to respond to your request.
This notice may be updated as the beta changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
